OpenAI retired ChatGPT agent, and now points people to ChatGPT Work and its cloud browser. Daiku gives ChatGPT, Claude and your other AI apps one browser on your accounts, and asks for your face or fingerprint before it sends, pays or deletes, by default. 1

- It runs on a separate computer in the cloud, so it keeps working after you close your laptop. 2

What happened to ChatGPT agent
- OpenAI's help center now says ChatGPT agent is no longer available. It points to ChatGPT Work for longer tasks, and to its cloud browser for web tasks. 1
- On 9 July 2026, as ChatGPT Work launched, OpenAI began to retire its Atlas browser. Reports say Atlas closed on 9 August 2026. 3, 4
- Some sites block browsers that AI uses, ChatGPT's too. OpenAI says you may need to finish the last step yourself. 2
Where Daiku falls short
- Daiku is invite only for now. You join the list and wait for your invite.
- Daiku isn't open source, and you can't run it on your own computer.
- Daiku acts when your AI asks. It doesn't start work on its own.
- Daiku works on websites only. It can't open the files or apps on your computer.
- Some sites block browsers that AI uses. Then you may need to finish a step yourself.
- Your browser sleeps when no one uses it, so the first step after a break takes longer.
Pick the ChatGPT cloud browser if
- You only use ChatGPT.
- You're on a paid plan, in a country where it's offered.
- You want it to keep going on its own while you're away.
- The sites you need work there.
Pick Daiku if
- You use more than one AI, and want them to share one browser and one set of sign-ins.
- You want your face or fingerprint on every payment and send, by default.
- You want a log of every step, and which AI asked for it.
- You want your browser and your log stored in the EU.
Can you use both?
Yes. Daiku doesn't replace ChatGPT. You can keep its cloud browser, and also use Daiku in ChatGPT, Claude or your other AI apps.

Yes. ChatGPT Work's cloud browser asks you to sign in through a form. OpenAI says the AI doesn't see your password, and ChatGPT doesn't store it. 2
